核桃市（WALNUT）
核桃市（英文：Walnut）是一座位于美国加利福尼亚州洛杉矶市、富
裕而宁静的城市，素有「小瑞士」之美誉，名列全美最宜居小城市及
最适合抚养小孩的城市。核桃市位于美国加利福尼亚州洛杉矶县，
1959年建立。面积约23平方公里。它的地理位置非常方便，毗邻三个
主要高速公路：60号、10号和57号。共有人口30,004人，其中亚裔美
国人占55.75%，华人占28.6%、白人占28.37%、非裔美国人占4.20%。
核桃市家户年平均收入达到106,996美元，该市房屋中间价达664,662
美元。
2012 年彭博商业周刊评比核桃市为加州最佳抚养儿童城市。2011年
CNN 《金钱（Money）》杂志评比“全美最适合居住城市”，核桃市在
人口少于５万的小城市中排名第57，不但在全加州排名最高，而且比2009年评比的70 名，大幅度提升。
除了一些繁忙的十字路口（如庄严大道和圣安东尼奥山学院附近的Amar路）外，这座位于起伏的山丘上的富裕城市与邻近的其他城市相比，显得比较安静。
核桃市社区发展完善，其公共设施亦十分周全。圣安东尼奥山学院（Mt.San Antonio college）位于本市。核桃市的大部分地区的中小学教育归享有良好声誉的核桃山谷联合学区管辖，该市西边的部分地区归罗兰联合学区管辖。著名的学区使这区的房价略高於周边城市。
核桃市每年都会举办一年一度的“核桃市家庭节”(Walnut Family Festival)。在节日的第一天，该市的几条街道（如柠檬街和La Puente街的一部分）在早晨会被封闭起来，当地的俱乐部和团体会结对进行游行。当天的下午，在苏珊妮（Suzanne）中学旁的苏珊妮公园会组织露天游乐场，包括售货摊、游戏、食物和各种活动等内容。
